A little bit about how we work and what we do.

Youth Internship

We offer paid youth internships for people ages 14-18 (older or younger, please inquire) who would like the opportunity to:

  • Connect to local food producers and learn about agriculture, particularly vegetable farming, in northern New Mexico
  • Gain insight into small farm business operations and engage with our community
  • Practice organic farming techniques
  • Work with the support of mentors and farm educators to and gain knowledge and skills
  • Experience an established business model and intensive mentorship at Cerro Vista Farm
  • Work in teams to plant, weed, harvest, wash and pack produce for retail and wholesale clients
  • Sell produce at Questa Farmers Market and Tuesday Farm Stand
  • Deliver produce to wholesale customers, Sangre de Cristo Valley Market
  • Create friendships, connect to land, and grow food

Mentorship

We hire mentors to work in teams with youth interns and farmers/educators. Teams accomplish farm and garden tasks during the planning, growing and harvesting seasons. Mentor tasks include:

  • Support young farmers and program interns
  • Plan production for 2025 with Cerro Vista Farms
  • Build local business relationships
  • Prepare and deliver CSA shares
  • Marketing and Newsletters
  • Media, Social Media, archive farming education videos
  • Work collaboratively with other community programs
  • Organize farm and garden volunteers
